The Writing on the Wall for Bennett, Biden, Boris… and Build Back Better

Naftali Bennett, Joe Biden and Boris Johnson are three of the most persistent Anglophone leaders advocating universal Covid-19 vaccination, and ‘Build Back Better’ (in which biotechnology and digital surveillance are ideological pillars).

‘Build Back Better’ is the conference slogan at the time of writing, here in my adopted city of Manchester, hosting the Conservative Party Conference.

As I have written elsewhere, the nations that are now the most thoroughly vaccinated are the ones now experiencing an unseasonal wave of respiratory-disease, with Israel topping the list of Covid-19 disease rate. Compare things to a year ago, where here in the UK no-one was vaccinated, and yet cases had dropped so low that the Government enticed us with financial incentives to come out of lockdown and get the economy moving again. Throughout August 2020, the UK Government subsidised restaurants to offer meals at half price, with a scheme called Eat Out to Help Out

Covid-19 is not a leading cause of death in the world, not even in the UK, which has had higher-than-average incidences of Covid-19. And so why the panic, and concerted fear-mongering? Many people have proposed suggestions for the panic and irrationality of the unfolding political chaos. But as I wrote in a piece for The Conservative Woman, I think we need look no further than the UK Government’s own publication on ‘Human Augmentation – A New Paradigm’, published in May 2021, and which says:

‘We cannot wait for the ethics of human augmentation to be decided for us… There may be a moral [sic] obligation to augment people, particularly in cases where it promotes well-being and protects us from novel threats. It could be argued that treatments involving novel vaccination processes and gene and cell therapy are examples of human augmentation already in the pipeline’.

The document goes on:

‘The future of human augmentation should not be decided by ethicists or public opinion, although both will be important voices; rather governments will need to develop a clear policy position that maximises the use of human augmentation in support of prosperity, safety and security, without [sic] undermining our [sic] values’.

There is no instance of the word ‘God’ in 110 pages of the Government’s thinking on Human Augmentation; no instance of the word ‘Christian’. The human-augmentation philosophy, with its Faustian promise of ‘life extension’, is wholly godless.

Those of us who understand the ethical underpinning of Western civilisation must put up an intellectual fight. There was a time when the Conservative Party understood the value of the Ten Commandments. But now it preaches to children: dishonour your parents and honour the state and its odious Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty.

We have seen in the past year how governments in the most advanced democracies can suddenly bulldoze new ‘scientific’ thinking through every obstacle. The governments of Israel, USA, UK, France, Germany, China, Cuba, Australia, New Zealand…  are all obviously hell-bent on racing to ‘the new paradigm’: human augmentation.

Alas, the ostensibly-religious PM of Israel will know that Human Augmentation is far from a new idea.

The Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar, destroyer of the Jerusalem Temple, dreamed of an augmented man, hybridised with metals and ceramics (Daniel 2:43). Nebuchadnezzar was so troubled by his dreams that he killed his own wise men and, out of desperation, called on the Jewish exile Daniel.

Fast forward in our Bible: King Belzshazzar, Nebuchadnezzer’s son, giving a feast to thousands of nobles, using gold cups taken from the desecrated Temple, also called on Daniel out of desperation, to interpret the writing on the wall of a disembodied hand.

The body is the Temple of God. Build it, and He will come.
